BMX Christmas Championships

Mountain-bike rider, Julio Gómez, came first in the Elite Category in the I Open Navideño de BMX Almuñécar. Altogether, around 30 participants competed on the BMX course in El Pozuelo, Taramay.

What’s Going On with the A7?

A socialist MP had some harsh words for the Government’s decision to re-evaluate the price tag for two stretches of motorway: the A7 between La Herradura and the A44 between Izbor and Velez de Benaudalla.

A-7 Further Delayed?

Surprisingly, the 2013 budget announced by the Central Government shows that there is no money for the A-7 between Almuñécar/Salobreña. In fact, there is no money set aside until 2014, when it will receive a budget of 118m euros, and then 15m euros in 2015 and finally, 12m euros in 2016.

A-7 Creeps Forward

Just after we announce that the A-7 wasn’t going anywhere fast, the Government announced that it had finally awarded a construction contract for the termination of the Gorgoracha-Puntalón section of the A-7, Autovía del Mediterraneo.

Motorbike Scrambling Almuñécar

The first trials of the Campeonato de Andalucía de Motocross took place on the 10th of June on the hillside in Taramay, Almuñécar. The event was held on a specially built track circuit beneath Hotel Playacálida on the Playa Cabria side.

The A-7 & N-340

No new stretch of the A-7 coastal autovia has been inaugurated since July 2009, despite repeated promises to the contrary. This summer will be no different from the last one in that respect.
