Work on the Paseo Andrés Segovia has just finished in time for the start of the international classical guitar competition, which is being held in the Civic Centre.

Streets Affected by Roadworks

We have just received notice that the following streets in Motril will be closed for public works from Monday morning (7th) until the 18th of this month – 11 days. Plaza Javier de Burgos C/Marqués de Vistabella up to C/ Milanesa C/Cruz de Conchas up to C/Arco Oliver C/ Cardenal Belluga up to Plaza Canalejas

Road Improvements, N-340

Work on the roadside of the N-340 on either side of the Punta de la Mona tunnel is continuing. Drainage is being improved by turning the earth culverts into a concrete ones.

Avenida Federico García

Now we have the Furore at Avenida Federico Garcia Lorca; after all the works carried out over the past few months, all the new roads and pavements were mysteriously dug up again. Then the road was re-laid. Ideal reports that the initial works were ‘liable to subsidence;’ therefore it was sensible to dig it all up and start over again.

San Nicolás Roadworks

The residents of Urbanization San Nicolas are suffering with the ongoing road works, which at times may lead to your finding the normal entrance to San Nicolas off the N-340 completely closed.

Esplanadas Revamp

Building works will start shortly on the Esplanadas in the centre of Motril. Just as the Avenida de Salobreña has been opened up again after remodelling at huge cost and inconvenience to the residents, shopkeepers and visitors to the town, the 600 approx people living on the Esplanadas are to be subjected to yet more months of dust, early morning drilling and general hell on earth

Avenida de Andalucía Adjustments

You will have noticed, perhaps, that there was a bit of work on the Avenida de Andalucía going on towards the end of February – this was repair work on a section that had already been finished.

As Vanessa has mentioned above, the road works on Lanjarón’s main street continues to drag on in waterlogged obstinacy. The barrage of rain is an obvious reason for this delay, although if rain stopped work in a place with a climate like the UK, nothing would ever get built there, would it?
