The Nerja Councillor for Infrastructure, Antonio García has announced that the first phase of the facelift for Calle El Barrio has concluded, costing some 275,000 euros.

The revamping involved laying ‘adoquines’ (flat cobblestones) along its entire length, as can be seen in the accompanying photograph. Also, taking advantage of having the road surface up, new rain-drainage and other water-bearing, pipework were laid.

The second phase of the revamping work on the said street, connecting it to Calle Antonio Millón, will commence after the summer, said the councillor.
