Yesterday evening saw dozens of driver trapped in the snow on the A-92 where it passes through the Puerto de la Mora, which lies at 1,380 metres in the Sierra de Huétor.
The Junta de Andalucía has more than five hundred personnel, 148 vehicles and 6,200 tonnes of salt to deal with winter snowfall and frost on the roads in the province of Granada.
Winter is on its way, as if the clock-change weren’t indication enough, because whilst snow fell on the Sierra Nevada, Motril was treated to a hail storm.
