The company that runs the Sierra Nevada ski slopes, Cetursa Remontes, stated yesterday that there has been abundant snowfall on the slopes.
On the higher slopes they have accumulated between 30 and 35cm of new snow and between 10 and 15cm around Río or Loma Dílar and the ski resort village, Urbanización de Pradollano.

It’s been snowing up there, on and off, since Saturday but there has also been gusting wind, which is why they had to close down the slopes on Saturday and during both Sunday and Monday they had to close the ski chairs on the upper slopes; i.e. on Telesquí Zayas and Telesilla Laguna.
The wind has also disrupted snow accumulation at certain points on the slopes, whilst at the same time causing natural snowbreaks and snowdrifts.
According to weather forecasts, this rain and mountain snowfalls will continue throughout the week, which has lead Centursa to be optimistic about the last third of the skiing season on the Sierra Nevada.
