Drivers Trapped in The Snow

Yesterday evening saw dozens of driver trapped in the snow on the A-92 where it passes through the Puerto de la Mora, which lies at 1,380 metres in the Sierra de Huétor.

The majority of problems are on the Granada-bound lanes where a lorry jack-knifed across the lanes, making things a lot worse.

The Guardia Civil and road maintenance workers were at the scene on the lanes which have been closed to traffic. Drivers were diverted onto the Carretera de Iznalloz.

In the meantime, the emergency coordination centre, 112 announced that the autovia was closed between kilometre points 252 and 257.

Furthermore, yesterday evening, three roads in the province were also been shut down: a A-395 (from KP 18 to KP 39), la A-4025 (from KP 0 to KP 7), and the A-4030. The use of snow chains is obligatory on the A-397, in Laroles, between KP 20 and KP 30.
