The Nerja Councillor for Beaches and the Environment, Nieves Atencia, has passed on the news that the provincial delegate for the Junta de Andalucia has accepted the town’s request for the permanent placing of sun beds and sunshades on Playa Canuelo, which is a protected beach.

At the last plenary meeting of the Nerja Town Council it was agreed to request before the Delegación Provincial de Salud that this health administration makes good its pledge made to the town and for it to send them the Proyecto Técnico for the new medical centre, so that it can be approved by the municipal council and for building work to begin.

The Nerja Town Hall is going to request that the Consejería de Comercio y Turismo de la Junta de Andalucía (regional trade and tourism board) lifts a fine levied upon several businesses in the town for holding the Feria de Oportunidades de Nerja.

Confiscated Tables and Chairs

The Nerja Town Hall is carrying out its blitz of terrace seating for bars and restaurants. The campaign to put some sort of order into the situation began in July and so far the Servicios Operativos Municipales have removed 23 tables and 72 chairs from one particular business in town.
Nerja Blue Flags Back

The Asociación de Educación Ambiental y del Consumidor, ADEAC, confirmed has informed the Nerja Town Hall that it considers that the problems with the beaches has been sorted out and that it can now fly the blue flags again from Burriana and Torrecilla.
