Having a castle in relatively good condition is definitely a bonus; even in Spain where they abound, so Salobreña is on a quest to improve theirs.

Medieval Market
by David Darby •
Yesterday saw the arrival of a Medieval Market on top of the paseo in Almuñécar. There are stalls selling everything from handmade jewellery to tasty treats. For the children there are pony rides and even a hand operated wooden merry-go-round. The event was very well attended on the day we had a look round, which…

Anybody travelling between La Herradura and Almuñecar will have noted road workers laying tarmac and other improvements.
The other improvements in question being stabilization work, which can be seen going on below the road, beside the main junction – there has been a boring machine that has been sinking horizontal piles to stabilize the road bank.

‘Driven’ Book Publication
by David Darby •
As the editor of The Seaside Gazette hard copy, my time is rather limited for any other ventures. However, some seven or eight years ago I wrote a novel, which has been pretty much collecting dust ever since.
Well, the other day I thought ‘if you don’t do something with it now, you never will.’
So, with no proof read or re-write beforehand, I have published it on Amazon Kindle.
It’s a thriller, with the action starting in rural England and ending up here on the Costa Tropical. It was extremely good fun to write and I sincerely hope anyone that reads it gets some pleasure from it as well.
Tandem Paragliding
by David Darby •
Have you seen the advert for Tandem Paragliding in the hard copy of The Seaside Gazette? It looks to be a fantastic experience and we already have one Gazette guy who has had a flight as a gift from his wife and another, very excited, Gazette Ed who is looking forward to his go.
Well, if you’re struggling over what to get your wife, husband or even difficult teenager, how about an experience that will remain with them forever.
