Many of our readers already know the very popular flamenco artistes, María la Canastera and her flamenco-guitarist husband, Carmelo, El Niño. I remember them as child artistes performing together with Rosa and Ricardo de la Juana. The pure sentiment that María and Carmelo, seemingly effortlessly, transmit throughout their performances leaves nobody untouched.

Almuñécar’s Annual bike meet, organised by Los Tiburones, will be offering plenty of chrome, leather jackets and mono-cylindral thunder on the 2nd and 3rd of June at the habitual venue; i.e., right down along Taramay, Playa Pozuelo.

The Almuñécar Town Hall has just announced the imminent arrival of its web-based paperwork system whereby you can make your applications, etc via Internet, rather than stomping around to the building itself.

Lawsuits Shelved by Public Prosecutor

The mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera, has sent out a press release informing us that several lawsuits against her over the re-opening of Camping Carambolo and staff dismissal in the town hall have been shelved by the Provincial Public Prosecutor.

Be Warned: Los Mateos Access Cut

As of Monday the 21st right up until the end of the month, the access road for Los Mateos (near Rescate) will be cut whilst roadworks are carried out. This affected section joins the junction on the rural lane leading up to Peña Escrita to the hamlet.
