The Mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro, will ask the Junta de Andalucía to ease restrictions in the Southern-Granada Health Area.
In other words, come this Sunday when the Junta has to make a decision on whether to continue with the present covid restrictions in the region, she suggests that the province of Granada should be evaluated on its health areas individually and not collectively because the health area to which the Costa Tropical belongs, has responded much better than the rest of the province.
She suggests that our health area should allow all businesses to open until 18.00h, as is the case at present in other areas of Andalucía.
Obviously, this will depend on the health data when evaluated, on which the Ministry of Public Health will base its decision, probably this Sunday.
It should be remembered that during the first Lockdown, the Costa Tropical had much lower infection figures than the city of Granada and the metropolitan area and requested at the time that our health area be judged separately.
The Southern-Granada Health Area consists of: Albondón, Albuñol, Sorvilán, Almuñécar, Jete, Lentegí, Otívar, Alpujarra de la Sierra, Bérchules, Cádiar, Cástaras, Juviles, Lobras, Murtas, Turón, Gualchos, Lújar, Motril, Polopos, Torrenueva Costa, Vélez de Benaudalla, Almegíjar, Bubión, Busquístar, Cáñar, Capileira, Carataunas, Lanjarón, Órgiva, Pampaneira, Pórtugos, Rubite, Soportújar, La Tahá, Torvizcón, Trevélez, Los Guájares, Ítrabo, Molvízar, Salobreña, Nevada, Ugíjar and Válor.
Finally, she has asked the Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera (a fellow PP mayor) to join her petition before the Junta.
