Granada Takes a Sad Lead

GRA Province of GranadaGranada has become the province in Spain with the most current covid cases: in the last two weeks the number reached 1,204 per 100,000 inhabitants.

This sits the province at the top of the ladder where the number of new cases is concerned, above the two badly affected areas of Aragón or Melilla.

In the whole of Granada there are only eight municipalities now that have reported no cases since the pandemic began. We’re referring to Almegíjar, Carataunas, Cástaras, Juviles, Lentegí, Lobras, Pampaneira, and Polícar. Jete and Turón were amongst that group until a few days ago, when they reported their first cases.

The province has towns and villages that have had cases but have had no more reported in the last 14 days: Albondón, Bérchules, Bubión, Cáñar, Nevada, Soportújar, Válor, Diezma, Huélago, Lugros, Marchal and Játar.
