A package of drugs was intercepted on Playa de la Cagaílla, containing between 30 and 40 kilos of hashish. A ‘suspicious movement of vehicles’ led the police to its discovery.
When the police reached the said beach, the package had been abandoned and the area deserted. The Guardia Civil had alerted the municipal police at seven in the morning, who then dispatched a patrol to the beach. Once located, the Guardia Civil took charge of the investigation.
The Guardia Civil assume that the drugs had been smuggled over from North Africa but the contact in Salobreña had failed to recover the ‘delivery’ because of police activity.
To date, nobody has been arrested.
