The Disney animated film was entitled 101 Dalmatians; this article is a tale of 110 dogs living in misery that the Guardia Civil came across.

The specialised unit, Seprona, whose task it is to protect animals and the environment, received a tip off about the fate of over a hundred dogs, chained up or shut in, on a small plot of land within the municipality of Buñol (Valencia), with no food nor water.
Seprona moved in on the 26th of last month to inspect the plot of land which had a hut and fence; one part of the land had half the dogs in the open, chained up in small gages serving as kennels. The other area had a hut on it measuring about 85 sq/m, where the rest of the dogs were being kept.
The officers confiscated all of the dogs and transferred them to a local animal shelter, and arrested a 50-year-old man to whom the land belonged. Unfortunately, it was already too late for 12 of the dogs who died soon after, given their state of health, despite the efforts of the animal shelter volunteers. The Town Hall also covered all the expenses of getting the animals to shelter and medical treatment.

Amen to that.
I’m not a particularly religious person. But I do hope that people that do this sort of thing. Go to a very warm place. No virgins. No free beers. No kindness.
