Scarce Night Patrolling

The IU opposition party considers the level of night policing in Nerja over the summer as scandalous. The claim that only two policemen were available to cover a town with a summer population of around 80,000 inhabitants.

Police Head Drunk at the Wheel

The Councillor for Citizen Safety; i.e., the municipal police, for the Almería town of Huércal received a 8-month driving ban and a fine calculated at 4 months at six euros a day, after being stopped and found to be over the alcohol limit.

Alleged Car Thief Arrested

The Guardia Civil and Policía Local have arrested the alleged thief responsible for breaking into seven parked cars around town. This is not to be confused with the Great Mirror Thief of Moroccan origin, as this lad is Spanish and is aged 38.

Mugged at a ATM

A Local Police foot patrol was approached by a frantic woman who told them that two people were fighting in a nearby public square. The police were soon there and separated the two men, but this wasn’t a disagreement that got out of hand, but a victim and a mugger battling it out.
