It seems that the search for the missing – and much media covered – Madeleine McCann has hit the headlines again, this time with a request from the Portuguese police to follow up on a Nerja-based clue; they believe that the missing girl could be there.

When the open land behind Calle Los Huertos was turned into a huge, free car park, remaining so for almost ten years, there was reasons to celebrate – parking is a tremendous asset for any town that hopes to survive on tourism. On the 22nd of March the Nerja Town Hall approved a motion in a Plenary Meeting of the Town Council to send of a request to Demarcación de Costas de Andalucía Mediterráneo to have the town’s beaches sorted out, which had been badly damaged by winter gales, namely El Chucho.
