Scruffs Success in Torrox

The first of this year’s annual Costa Animal Society dog shows took place on May 26 and raised 1,950 euros for the charity. Scruffs Torrox 2012 was held at the Andale Riding Centre and attracted 49 dogs who were judged in 11 classes.

Licencia Express

The Nerja Town Hall has agreed to express its support in the next full plenary meeting of the Council for what is known as licencia express, which is designed to make the setting up of business much easier.

For the third consecutive year, Nerja has obtained Blue Flags for its beaches: Burriana, Torrecilla, El Playazo and Maro, placing Nerja amongst the top ranking coastal towns in Andalucia, preceded only by Marbella (7) Roquetas (6) and Rota (5).

The Coucillor-Delegate for the Environment, Nieves Atencia, has announced the winner for the job bid on the restoration of the Casas de los Mineros, which is situated in the Fuente del Esparto area.

Free Concerts in Nerja Caves

The Nerja Caves is offering free admittance to residents of Nerja every Sunday morning of the year. You only have to show a documents that proves that you are a resident: your DNI if you are Spanish or you empadronado certificate if you are a foreigner to enjoy this offer.

Nerja Romería

The Councillor for Popular Traditions, Sandra Jimena, has thanked visitors and residents for the ‘massive turn out’ for the San Isidro Romería. And it was massive when you consider that over 150 horsemen and 100 horse carriages and decked out vehicles, as well as seven ox-drawn carts took part.
