The March for Equality

Around 350 people participated in a march for equality on Sunday the 12th, entitled III Caminata por la Igualdad, as part of the International Woman’s Day.

Lift for Medical Centre

The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has confirmed that the medical centre will have a lift installed. He made the pledge after having met with the Managing Director of the Regional Hospital for Axarquia, José Pinazo.

Iberia Strike Action Commences

Starting today Iberia workers are carrying out strike action until the 22nd of February. If their demands are not met, there will be further strike action from the 4th to the 8th of March and then from the 18th to the 22nd of the same month – a total of 15 days of stoppages.

Beachbeds for El Cañuelo?

The Nerja Councillor for Beaches, Nieves Atencia, issued a press statement to say that they had submitted the municipal Plan de Playas for 2013 to the Regional Government – Nerja is one of the five municipalities in the province to do so, so far.

Joan Miro Posters on Show

The Nerja Museum is holding an exhibition of Los Carteles de Miró comprising of 32 posters, which were commissioned by art galleries and produced by the painter between 1963 and 1985.

Paseo de los Carabineros

The Head of the Demarcación de Costas, Angel González, visited Nerja to meet with the Mayor and several councillors on the subject of the Paseo de los Carbineros.
