Paseo de los Carabineros

The Head of the Demarcación de Costas, Angel González, visited Nerja to meet with the Mayor and several councillors on the subject of the Paseo de los Carbineros.

The Councillor for Beaches, Nieves Atencia, explained that the first step was for the Town Hall to draw up a feasibility study on opening up a section of the paseo and send it to the Costas to decide.

Should Costas give the green light, about 200 metres of the paseo, starting from Playa de Calahonda would be opened to the public, with two miradores (viewing points) along the way. Obviously, users would exit the paseo the same why that they entered it; i.e., there will be a dead end.

Furthermore, it wouldn’t be on its original route along most of the way, but closer instead to the sea and away from the cliffs.
