New Rubbish Containers for Nerja

The Provincial Head of the Environment Depart, Juan Jesús Bernal, visited Nerja’s Punto Limpio and handed over 111 rubbish containers.

The Nerja Councillor for Urban Cleaning and Ecology, José Miguel García, was suitably grateful and impressed, but not as impressed we are with his improbable title. “Now’s the time, with the summer still around the corner, to prepare for that season, which is when most rubbish is collected,” he heroically stated.

He went on to explain that this would help cater for the 158,000 kilos of waste that go to the provincial recycling plant. He also explained that Nerja registers on average 7.5 kilos of rubbish per inhabitant per year.

Well that was stirring stuff, wasn’t it?
