Landslide Blocks Tunnel

A landslide near the mouth of the Punta de la Mona tunnel, on the La Herradura side, caused the main road to be closed to traffic whilst it was cleared. It’s not the first time that there has been a rock-fall there; in fact, retention netting etc has only recently been erected at this entrance.

Con-Man Jailed

A man has been sentenced to 21 months’ imprisonment for conning a travel agent in the village. He passed himself off as an agent for a popular singer, asking for a series of services that he either didn’t even attempt to pay for, or simply issued a bouncing cheque (sin fondos).
