Espinar Cracks

The PSOE has brought the appearance of cracks in El Espinar, along Calle Vencejo, to the attention of the press.
Families living there were alarmed by the ‘progress’ of the growing cracks, which appear to be threatening at least two houses. These same locals complained to the PSOE that they had brought the matter up at the Town Hall but to no avail.
Wave Damage

Just before Christmas there were high waves that pounded the coastline of Granada. In La Herradura, the gale pushing up from the south had the waves swamping the beach road and even some terraces.
Segovía Prizes

Second Prize went to Gustavo Costa, from Brazil, and Third Prize to Jerzy Chwastyk from Poland.

Pep Benaiges, the pen behind the Gazette’s Spanish article, El Catalejos, is one of the most likeable people in La Herradura. He speaks excellent English and is very much into theatre, which runs in his family. But besides that, he has also probably the village’s most well known insurance broker/financial advisor, who set up business here in 1994.

Jed, Mandy and the very popular Jonathan, from ‘El Ancla’ have joined forces and reopened La Tartana. The place has had a complete refurbishment, which gives it a fresher, lighter and brighter feel, as has the menu, which continues to offer superb quality food, complete with children’s menu at very competitive prices.
Speed Cameras

First of all, they appeared in La Herradura and were the talk of the town, and now they have made an appearance in Almuñécar – and we’re not talking about tourists who took the wrong turning and ended up here, but the dreaded speed cameras.
