La Cañada parking, which was inaugurated in 2008, is situated at the main entrance to Frigiliana, next to the old sugar factory. This was thanks to an 8m-euro investment by a private entity.

The Benin Bronzes are a collection of more than 1,000 brass plaques from the royal palace of the Kingdom of Benin. They were seized by a British force in the punitive expedition of 1897 and given to the British Foreign Office. Around 200 of these were then passed on to the British Museum in London, while the remainder were divided between a variety of collections.
Nerja Parking Unrest

When the open land behind Calle Los Huertos was turned into a huge, free car park, remaining so for almost ten years, there was reasons to celebrate – parking is a tremendous asset for any town that hopes to survive on tourism. The later move to put a pay barrier at the entrance put an end to that – but parking is parking.
Dig Deeper

Locals of Nerja are going to have to dig deeper into their pockets to pay for their rubbish collections. Bear in mind that the rates for domestic rubbish collections have been static since 1992. The cost of the service was incorporated into the IBI, or local, property tax.
RBL Sponsored Walk

On Wednesday 14th March our Branch Treasurer, Dave Graves, completed a marathon sponsored walk on behalf of the RBL Poppy Appeal. His route covered just over 30 kilometres of mountainous terrain, starting at Venta de Palma (700m) (Cómpeta), up to Puerto Collado,(890 m) then further up behind the fire watch station, reaching a height of 1164m – considerably higher than Mount Snowdon in Wales!
