On Monday the 23rd the Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera has convoked extraordinary and urgent meeting of the Town Council. The prime reason concerns the Urbanización Cármenes del Mar.

Otívar Electrician Killed

Around 09.30h this morning 53-year-old Jose Manuel B.R. was electrocuted whilst working on the fuse box of a heavy-duty, irrigation-well pump. Although Otívar born, Jose Manuel lived and worked in Almuñécar.

Gasp!

Almuñécar owes eight million euros in legal fees to a local legal firm, thanks to the constant court cases against the municipality. All of this sum was accrued under Juan Carlos Benavides.

Fencing in the Pedestrians

The Almuñécar Councillor for Public Works, José Manuel Fernández, has had his department busy putting railings on street corners. The reason is to stop people crossing where they shouldn’t.
