A group of 40 hikers from the Almuñécar walkers club carried out an excursion between lentegí and Almuñécar. The said club is organised by the Municipal Sports Board.
There was a change to the annual programme which had intended an excursion to the Dehesa de Camarate, but owing to autumn dragging its heels, it was postponed until the autumnal colours appear in the woods in that area, explained the programme coordinators, Enrique Garín and Francisco ‘Chico’ Novo.
The Dehesa de Camarate excursion has been consequently postponed to the 25th of November. So, the 40 hikers were sent to stomp down from Lentegí to Almuñécar in its stead; an outing that offers some interesting views of Almuñécar and La Herradura below.
“The outing was accompanied by mild temperatures and hardly any wind, which, together with the downhill nature of the walk, made an enjoyable day,” said Enrique ‘I see no Autumn’ Garín.
Incidentally, there was at least one Brit, who can be seen on the left of the photo going the wrong way, stubbornly circulating on the left of the track… *Sniff,* makes you proud to be British, damn it!
