Well, it appears that Almuñécar has clawed back four million euros from its debt, after putting to bed the 2012 budget year. The debt at the close of 2011 stood at 42,193,097 euros, whereas at the close of 2012 it had been reduced to 39,228,923 euros.
The Councillor for Hacienda, Antonio Laborda, surprised nobody when he said that the improvement is the fruit of the “good management” by this municipal council. He said that this was possible because the debt is being handled in a regular manner, instead of what he considered an erratic manner by the previous municipal administration.
