After six years of construction, the Municipal Market will open its doors on February the 28th, which is a public holiday as it is the Day of Andalucia.
Councilor for Urban Planning, Javier García, explained that the market features a total of 44 stalls. Half are dedicated to fishmongers, alongside stalls for butchers, grocers, deli products, flowers, bakery items, and even spices.

The building also has four bar/cafe units located on the corners and beneath the market there are 200 parking spaces distributed over the 2-level, underground parking.
The Mayor, Juanjo Ruiz Joya, considers that Almuñécar has one of the best markets in Andalucia, built entirely with funds from the municipal coffers. The project initially cost 7.3 million euros, followed by an additional 800,000 euros for the stall fixtures.
