Fire Personnel in the ski village of Pradollano on Sierra Nevada closed down an outside bar terrace because of the instability of the roof eaves.
The problem was the weight of the snow on the roof ledge, which as it begins to melt increases the pressure on the roof tiles.

It was the Monachil Policia Local (under whose municipality the ski resort falls) who alerted the Granada Fire Department (which has a permanent detachment up there) to the danger.

Seems to lack dedication. Most bars I’ve ever been in, the locals would have had at least 4 different schemes of getting the snow off the roof before finishing their drinks; rather than move. Said schemes varying in lunacy, hilarity, and risk. If the attached photo is of the place in question, a bit of string and a stick ought to do the job. Tsk. Youth today.
