Yesterday afternoon the Policía Local handed out fines to six drivers for trying to enter Motril without a valid reason.
On one of the control points, which was mounted on the Al Campo roundabout the police stopped six drivers from different municipalities: Molvízar, Almuñécar, Lobres and Salobreña, all of whom had turned up to do shopping etc. Not only were they fined, but also forced to turn around and return home.
The Motril Policía Local have controls on the beach area to prevent people from occupying their holiday homes down there. However, so far they haven’t caught any.
Lastly, so far this weekend the municipal police have issued five fines for breaking the night curfew, as well as a business for not respecting the early closing limit.
(News: Motril, Costa Tropical, Granada, Andalucia)

Have had to travel from Motril to Granada four times in the past week. My partner has to visit hospital and is not allowed to drive. We have not seen any police controls and have not been challenged once. If the recent restrictions are to work and the government is awaiting time to see if they are then surely the local government needs to actually be enforcing them?
The police presence in Salobrena not that great!! Only seen one police stop and that was last Sat at about 11 am and then not for long
