The street-cleaning & rubbish-collection company, FCC, has removed, over 5,000 pieces of chewing gum from the streets of Motril.
The total weight is around five kilos of chewed, spat out, gum – pretty disgusting without adding the present health-crisis connutations.
The method used for removing encrusted chewing gum on pavements is to spray a loosening agent, which is left in place some minutes before applying a jet of hot water, which not only lifts the gum but also removes the stain.
Editorial comment: put a hefty tax on chewing gum and fine the filthy gits until their eyes bleed – just saying!
