While Saturday the 30th was a busy day for the mountain rescue teams on Sierra Nevada, Sunday turned out to be a tragic one because of a death up there.
The 30-year-old man died as a result of a fall on the north face of the Mulhacen peak. The emergency 112 number received an alert at 16.40h from the victim’s friend.
His companion on the climb explained how the victim, a resident of Murcia, had slipped and plumeted as they were ascending the north face next to Laguna de la Mosca.
Both the Guardia Civil (Sereim) and Infoca personnel participated in bringing the body down and taking it to the Instituto Anatómico Forense in Granada.
