A 70-year-old Swedish cyclist was killed and a motorcyclist badly injured in a collision at km 305 of the N-340 near Cerro Gordo, just before the Granada/Malaga provincial border, near to the town of La Herradura.

The emergency services attended the scene of the accident which occurred at 16.20 hrs on Saturday just prior to the Cerro Gordo tunnel. The injured motorcyclist was taken to hospital in Motril.

The cyclist was not carrying any documents that could identify him at the time of the accident although it was later possible to establish his nationality – relatives are being informed before more information is released to the public.
