The First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya, has announced that the National Lottery Organisation has agreed to use an image of La Herradura Bay on its lottery ticket on the 18th of October, to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the shipwreck of the Spanish Fleet in the village’s bay.

Those readers concerned about the effect that the proposed new building developments on the Peñón del Lobo will have on the coastal footpath between Herradura and Almunecar will be pleased to know that the Junta de Andalucia has recently placed an information board at the Cotobro end of the “Fishermans’ Pathway,” which has a a map showing the route and details of the wildlife to be seen.
