A Motril court has sentenced a man of Moroccan nationality to six months imprisonment for breaking the terms of a distance order from his wife. His wife, on the other hand, got a prison sentence of four months after also breaking the order!
This all happened in Calahonda in June this year when agents of the Civil Guard surprised the defendant M.H.E.K., who was in the company of his wife at the time. The distance order had been handed down by the court in September 2008 for a period of 40 months and prohibited the husband from being within 500 meters of his wife. They had mutually agreed to resume their relationship but had obviously forgotten to let anyone know of their plans!
