Publisher of the Costa Tropical Gazette and Editor of the online Seaside Gazette, Martin was born in 1957 and moved to Spain in 1981 and has lived here ever since.
Martin is a musician, playing with brothers José and Dani Montalvo Martin under a number of band names since 1985.
He is also an English teacher since 1984, having worked in Almuñécar’s IES Al Ándalus (secondary school) and many years of private classes as well as two years working in summer academies in Jaca (Aragón) and Candelario (Castilla-León).
Martin started working for what was then the Coastal Gazette in 1998 as a contributor before taking up the post of Editor in 2003 when it became the Seaside Gazette with Georg Hvizdalek as the Publisher. With Georg’s death in 2008, Martin became the Publisher, joined by Dave Darby as the Editor.
As a writer, Martin has had one book published: Up To Bridge Forty (1998).
He is a widower since 2014 and had an only son who died in 2007, leaving him a grandson, Matthew (17), who lives in Wales.
