Thank God For Neighbours

A resident in the Matagallares area of Salobreña was suspicious of a young couple that were taking ‘too much interest’ in his neighbour’s cortijo, so he phone him. Alerted, the owner phoned the Guardia Civil at 23.30h to say that he was on his way out to his cortijo and that it would be jolly nice if they pop round, too.

Almuñécar Bank Robbers Rumbled

The Guardia Civil has managed to identify the two suspects from the bank robbery that was carried out in Almuñécar on the 19th of April. One of the suspects, a 24-year-old from Málaga, has already been arrested.

Policemen Arrested

Members of the Catalan regional police force, Los Mossos d’Esquadra, arrested five Guardia Civil policemen as part of a police crack down on a gang that specialised on highway robbery; i.e., robberies carried out on the nations motorways.

Attempted Mugging

Returning to Torrenueva, a woman was mugged by hooded thieves, armed with a pistol – and not a water pistol, so we can rule out off-duty firemen.

Outboards and Outlaws

Two men, aged 26 and 29, were arrested for allegedly stealing outboard motors. The stolen motors have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Crop Theft

Motril’s chirimoya ‘agriculturists’ (farmers to you and me but a grand word none-the-less), have been having a bad time of it of late. As soon as the chirimoya season has got underway the agriculturists (sounds good doesn’t it!) have been noticing that they are not the only ones harvesting their own crops.

Food Bank Raided

Ruthless robbers recently ransacked the premises of the Food Bank organization here in Motril. They got away with 200 kilos of foods and two computers.
