The Town Hall has announced that the Protección Civil will be patrolling the beaches up to the 16th of this month. Motril seems to be the only coastal town on the Costa Tropical that is anything short of grateful for the voluntary dedication of these guys, but we shan’t go into that further here.

The Guardia Civil has arrested five Romanians in connection with a spate of robberies on Salobreña beaches during San Juan. The suspects, between the ages of 20 and 35, allegedly travelled from Motril where they were residing to Salobreña to carry out ‘operations.’

A tip off to the Policía Local in Salobreña led the to five arrests in Fuengirola by the Policía Nacional. The anonymous caller told the Salobreña police that his friend had been kidnapped by a drugs gang.
