Whilst over in Nerja an Indian film crew had been busy filming in the streets for a Bollywood production, Salobreña has played host to a South Korean documentary crew, filming for a programme about Spain and its gastronomy. They have also been in Granada, Sevilla, Toledo and Jerez de la Frontera.
In charge of the project is a famous Korean actor and TV presenter, Jae Jung Park. As the programme will be aired in September on a national TV chain at peak viewing time, the Salobreñeros are quite chuffed, as you can imagine, as it will promote the town as a tourist destination within the Korean tourist-trade sector.
The film crew had a go at fishing in La Caleta, strolled through the old town and the castle, and had a good ogle at the vega. Mr Jae Jung Park also spent the day with a Spanish family, learning how to cook some local dishes, amongst them, migas, fish and mellon.
Franco would have had them all rounded up and shot for being suspiciously foreign, but there were no rumours of earth tremors at the Valley de los Caidos, where his Generalisimo is buried… bless his cotton socks.
