Almuñécar’s firemen are going to have to wait another three years before they will receive their first and long-awaited fire station, according

Rambla Roundabout

Talking of road related stories… the work continues at the top of Rambla del Espinar, where there have now covered the top of the Rambla with concrete and have even started laying the kerbing stones, which look like they will mark the entrance to the roundabout.

Peugeot Playa Peril

A young driver nearly caused a disaster after leaving his car without first applying the handbrake at the Peña Parda end of the bay. It didn’t help that the hapless young chap also left the vehicle in neutral.
A short time after the driver wandered off, the Peugeot 206 started its driverless jaunt down the beach towards the sea.

Hugging Mugging

Talking of people up to no good, has anyone ever heard the expression ‘hugging mugging’? It was new to me as well, but apparently, a chap catches your eye, then approaches with a big grin and arms open wide, and claims to be a long lost friend. Then, making his apologies for mistaking you for someone else shoots off on a moped. Then you find that you have been relieved of your wallet/purse.

Bogus Gasman

Beware, the bogus gasman cometh! Seriously, we have had a report that someone has turned up at an elderly resident’s house claiming to be there on behalf of Butano, and that he needed to check the occupants appliances.

Doctor Attack

A doctor at our local medical centre was punched several times, and his computer screen and keyboard smashed with a hammer by an angry local man on the 1st of July.
