Firefighters Take Diving Course

La Herradura Diving Centre is conducting a professional diving course for the Granada Fire & Rescue Service, “after which all the participants will receive a certificate allowing them to perform rescues using diving equipment,” said the head of the centre, Luis Pellejero.
The course is sponsored by the Junta de Andalucia through the provincial coordinator of Civil Protection and consists of 250 hours of training, both on theory and practical levels and involves nine firefighters.

The Province of Granada seems to be receiving one piece of bad news after another. First of all it was the negative from Brussels to route the Mediterranean rail-freight network via Costa Tropical, leaving Motril port without a rail connection, and then on the 26th of October, it was announced that the autovia construction between Taramay and Salobreña had seemingly ground to a halt.

Finally, the powers that be in Brussels have decided that the Europe-wide, railway-freight network will not pass between Almeria and Malaga via the coast, giving Motril Port a rail connection at last. It seems that the Costa Tropical has been put on the back burner yet again.
