Segovia Facelift Progress

Well, there has been plenty of revamping work going on during the winter and spring along the streets of La Herradura to show off to the summer visitors… if they come. The latest modifications have reached the campsite, half way along Paseo de Andrés Segovia, as part of a process to sort out the pavements…

XIV Feria Gastronómica, Almuñécar

This annual event will take place in the Majuelo on the weekend of the 18th, 19th & 20th of this month. Unfortunately, we have only just received this information, otherwise we would have included it in the hard-copy edition. Never mind.

Paseo de los Carabineros, Nerja

The Councillor for the Environment, Nieves Atencia, has announced that a team from Madrid would be coming down to check out the state of the Paseo de los Carabinero with an eye to seeing whether at least a part of it can be repaired and reopened.

La Herradura Medieval Fair

La Herradura will host a Medieval Fair between the 15th and 17th of June, informed the Vice-Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya. The said fair will be held in Plaza Nueva, sporting Medieval stalls.

Civic Centre Art Exhibition

During the whole of this month the La Herradura Civic Centre will be hosting a combined art exhibition of local artists, entitled Alma de Artista, which has been organised by the art club, Artex, having around 80 members.

Emergency Exercise in La Herradura

Passersby may have been surprised by all the commotion around Hotel Almijarra on the 25th, with the police and emergency services pouring in and out of the building, but there was no cause for concern as it was all emergency exercise, or a simulacro, as they say in Spanish.
