El Cerval Access Tarmacked

Locals from Pago de Río Jate and El Cerval are having their access lane tarmacked from end to end, (sounds painful, admittedly) according to Rural-Area Coordinator, Francisco Alba. This is thanks to funds from the Junta de Andalucia, belonging to the Encamina2 programme, which also included the tarmacking of the Los Mateos access lane.

The construction company has been busily preparing the road surface along the last 1,200 metres of the lane, readying it to take the tarmac layer. Other preparatory works consisted of building rain-water drainage either under the track or across it, where the lane crossing gullies.

The access lane for Río Jate starts at the N-340 at kilometre point 306.7, serving El Cerval Bajo and Alto, as well.

Great news for anybody with a cortijo up that way, especially if they have to get fruit boxes down.
