Cerro Gordo Burns Again

Thanks again to the rapid response of the fire and police services, and the absence of high winds, the pine forest of Cerro Gordo was not converted into an ashtray. This latest fire is the tenth since the end of last summer.

Demolition Disobedience

A provincial law court of Sevilla has sent a couple to prison for not acting on a demolition order over their home. However, as the couple has no criminal record and the prison sentence (6 months) is inferior to the minimum sentence of 24 months that would require incarceration, the couple are pending a further judicial decision.
Mirador Facelift

Anybody who has been up to the top of the old town, to the parking next to the church, will have seen workmen digging up the concrete surface in front of the church. The reason for this is that the Public Works Department of the Town Hall has decided to do something about the damp problem caused by rainwater seeping down into the tunnel.

You would think that developers would be very much in tune with how people want to live; not just where they want to live, but in many cases, they are more in tune with how much money can be made, knowing that somebody will always buy the properties in question… even if they do eventually take the developer to court.
