The Diving Centre, based on Cotobro in Edif. Delfín is giving a 50% discount for beginners, residing or born in Almuñécar or La Herradura. You just need to show them your empadronamiento certificate, in the case of foreign residents.

Dark Ages Descend on La Herradura!

The La Herradura Medieval Fair kicks off on Friday the 15th at 18.00h and will conclude on Sunday. There will be stacks of activities, ranging from birds of prey to donkey rides, bouncy castles to the village’s brick and mortar one, and plenty of Medieval costumes and tasty morsels.

Two-Hundred Kilos of Junk

Well, thanks to a lot of work, co-ordination and bubble blowing, the great seabed cleaning up operation off Punta de la Mona retrieved over 200 kilos of discarded rubbish, amongst which was a traffic sign, a large lorry tyre, plastic bins, pipes, mirrors and a bucket load of fishing hooks – there was even a part of an electricity generator.

La Herradura and Velilla are to get new glass-recycling bins, thanks to an agreement struck between the Town Hall and a glass-recycling company, Ecovidrio. No further information is yet available concerning the body found floating off Playa Cantarriján, La Herradura. Several bathers saw the body floating about 50 metres out to sea and reported the sighting to the emergency number 112 at 19.20h, Sunday the 3rd. Thank God For Neighbours

A resident in the Matagallares area of Salobreña was suspicious of a young couple that were taking ‘too much interest’ in his neighbour’s cortijo, so he phone him. Alerted, the owner phoned the Guardia Civil at 23.30h to say that he was on his way out to his cortijo and that it would be jolly nice if they pop round, too.
