A paintball club has just opened its doors in La Herradura called, Legendario – La Herradura. A young man from the village, David Ruiz, is behind the venture which is probably unique here on the Costa Tropical.
A subtropical fruit farm has been made over into a shooting course, fencing in around 200 sq/m with a 6-metre high fence. The course, which has lighting for nighttime battles, is dotted with numerous ‘obstacles’ to make it all the more interesting for participants.
David Ruiz explains that the paintball course is set up for two teams of six or two teams of four, which is the minimum number for a team. The nighttime session begins at 20.00h, winding up at midnight.
As for the costs, the minimum price per session is 100 paintballs for 15 euros, which includes a referee. If you need to ‘reload’ then your next 100 paintballs costs seven euros. There’s also a special group fee of 300 euros giving you 4,000 paintballs to share out amongst you. Participants are issued with a boiler-suit, protective goggles and a paintball gun – the only thing that you have to provide, on the clothing side, is a pair of shoes or boots. Bear in mind that the paint comes off easily in the wash.
The course is open mornings, afternoons and evenings, however you must book in advance.
