The General Secretary for the local branch of PSOE, Juan Moreno, claims that the Mayor has allowed the leaseholder of the Municipal Sports Pavilion to store boats in an underground storage facility.

Councillor Moreno says that the pavilion facilities are being used without any type of municipal licence, authorisation or municipal control.

This came about on the 25th of February when socialist (PSOE) councillors visited the municipal sports faciities and asked to see the underground storage area. However, according to the party Spokeswoman, Rocío Palacios, they were informed that the Town Hall does not have the keys for it nor has any knowledge of somebody using it.

During their inspection they saw a large boat being removed. 

Spokeswoman Palacio says that her party had received several compaints from locals over the misuse of these facilities and the possible storage of dangerous/imflamable materials, such as fuel and paint for boats. This is why, she said, they had requested the keys to check it out.

They have since found out that the lease-holding company since the construction of the sports facilities, has not come through with the purpous of the lease, which was to provide public parking for the village.

For this reason Secretary General Moreno asked how it could be possible that the Town Hall has allowed this situation to go on for years without annulling the lease, despite the leaseholder not honouring the stipulated commitments.
