The socialist party (PSOE) in opposition within the Motril Council has criticised Mayor Luisa García Chamorro over the missing tow-truck service within the municipality.
Socialist councillor, Belén Blánquez said that the Policía Local can’t attend any service that requires the presence of a tow-truck without having to rely on Salobreña. This has been the case for nearly two years.
Councillor Blánquez said, “On many occasions, we have had to wait for a tow truck to arrive from Salobreña, who send it over as a favour, because we haven’t got one,” she complained. She put this deficit down to bad management on the part of the ruling party, the PP conservatives.
She went on to explain that the previous company that covered this service simply stop providing one in Motril and that the only tow truck that Motril has is very old and hardly works. She also pointed out that on occasions Salobreña could not send theirs because it was in use over there. She considers that the Mayor has been completely incapable of hiring a new company.
Councillor Blánquez recounted how on one occasion the Policía Local could not remove a car that was blocking access to a street, so they had to place diversion signs and redirect the traffic
