Manuel Flores, the Vice-Mayor of the municipality of Felix (Almería) has resigned after a video came to light of him consuming drugs accompanied by young women.

Sr. Flores, who has also resigned from his party, the conservative PP, was also the Councillor for Culture and Fiestas…

He has not, however, handed in his council seat; only his position of responsibility, meaning that he is still officially a councillor but not for the PP, but as an independent.

He said that the video is from at least two years ago and he doesn’t know why somebody thought to post it on social media now.

In the video he is naked down to his waist, sat in front of a wooden table, with implements used for consuming certain kinds of drugs. There is a woman, judging by the voice, who is hardly visible in the images, with whom he is speaking. There are, in fact, two women present, who are foreign judging by their accents.

The woman says that there is a man in Aguadulce who wants her to spend time with him and asked how much it would cost and the councillor responded “Tell him you’re with your partner [boyfriend].”

In his defence he said that he was alone with the two girls (chavalas) but that it was a set up (honey pot).

However, the socialist party in this small village of 697 inhabitants, had already complained that he had been using an official Town-Hall vehicle to drive around in the early hours of the morning and visit a shady area of Roquetas known as the Barrio de Las 200 Viviendas.

Editorial comment: it is always amusing when a member of the PP; a party that represents family and religious values and are upholders of moral integrity, get caught with loose women and drugs.
