According to the Mayor of Almuñécar, the Plaza de La Indepencia in La Herradura will be ready and open to the public in mid May... just in time for the elections.
Mayor Juan José Ruiz Joya pointed out that the square has been adapted for access for people with mobility problems and that the problem of water leaking into the car park below the square had been solved.
First Councillor for La Herradura, Daniel Barbero, was also present for the photo op, naturally, who pointed out that the budget for the work amounted to 320,000 euros.
He said that the work on the square was very necessary as the design of the Plaza de La Independencia was outdated and needed an overhaul so that it would become the “nerve centre of the village’s social life,” as it would be the open-air venue for concerts and events

Oddly I miss Moons and either a chicken and chips or a real kebab and chips.
Still we get sun here and warmth most of the year. If I close my eyes. I can imagine a tapas is a kebab and a wine glass of beer ,a pint. !!
Patrick: God I miss Naafi sandwiches and a pint down the Malcom Club!
Drinking is not the answer to your issues.
Remember. Always look on the bright side of life. Any more of your cynical comments and you will be banished to the ex servicmans club forevermore.
Patrick: Yes, I know, my doctor told me and recommended pills.
Martin. You can be such a cynic.
Of course it’s just luck that works started in early spring, coincide with elections.
Enjoy your Easter Eggs. !!
