
The Motril opposition party, Centrados en Motril has expressed its concern over the problems caused to residents by seemingly eternal roadworks.
The regional socialist party has accused the Central Government of delaying the completion of the A-7. They demand that the Central Government spend 116m euros so that the A-7, minus the Carchuna-Castell section, so it can all be opened this year.

The Avenida de Salobreña, otherwise known as the road from the Alcampo supermarket into the centre of Motril, has now been out of action (closed) since May 2009 with a projected completion date of late March 2010.
