A priest caused a road accident and when he was breathalysed, he said that he had consumed wine used during the course of his pastoral duties.
The accident took place in Valencia. The priest had been speeding and he was also talking on his mobile – and it wasn’t with God either.
The combination of alcohol, excessive speed and talking on a mobile caused him to lose control and plough into a parked car.
Although the priest was over the limit, it was not to such an extent to come under criminal law; i.e, he will receive a fine.
An eyewitness said that the priest in his Audi had been driving in an erratic manner about 80kph along Calle Pedro Aleixandre,
The priest claimed that he had recently drunk congregational wine during a Eucharist service.
